Eleanor was suffocating. It wasn’t something she’d admit out loud, but every day with David, her husband, felt like swallowing sand. She had it all — a stable marriage, grown kids, a nice house — but inside, she felt like she was dying.

The sex was predictable, the conversation was dull, and life felt like a black and white movie. Then, Charles showed up. He didn’t ask permission to enter her life; he just barged in. A guy who oozed danger and desire with every word. Eleanor knew he was a bad idea from the first look. But who said the bad ideas aren’t the most exciting?

Eleanor encountered Charles during a professional gathering. He was the newly appointed consultant for the firm, seemingly crafted to create upheaval in the lives of women. Tall and self-assured, he possessed a smile that held no apologies. His entrance into the room ignited a sensation in Eleanor that she hadn’t experienced in years: not the comforting warmth of a loving embrace, but an intensity that made her legs quiver and her heart pound as if she had just completed a marathon.

“You strike me as someone who enjoys a challenge,” he remarked casually during a break for coffee.
