Sex. One night. A stranger. That’s all it took for Jessica to detonate ten years of marriage. It wasn’t planned, it wasn’t premeditated. But it happened. And now, she had to deal with the fallout of her choices — choices that started with a tight dress, a knowing glance, and a decision that would alter her life forever.

That Friday seemed harmless enough. Jessica and her friends had decided to go out and celebrate Lauren, the most party-hard of the bunch. It was supposed to be just a night of laughs and drinks, but something about the throbbing atmosphere of the bar got to Jessica in a way she didn’t expect. Maybe it was the buzz of the loud music, or maybe it was the fact that for years, Robert — her husband — had barely looked at her like a woman.

Jessica knew she looked good that night. The crimson gown hugged her figure as though it were a second skin. She sensed the gazes of the men nearby, but it was the doorman’s stare that caused her heart to race. Jason stood tall with a strong build and possessed a charisma that made any woman feel tiny and exposed — yet in the most positive manner.

When she tried to head into the women’s restroom, he stopped her with a knowing grin.
