Savannah was wet, ready, and he knew it. Caleb remained still. He lay there, gazing at the ceiling as though he were anticipating a miraculous rescue. She attempted once more, her hand gliding over his chest, descending further, playfully provoking him as she frequently did. Yet, he brushed her hand aside as if it were on fire and murmured:

— Not tonight.

Not tonight? Savannah’s blood boiled. For weeks now, “not tonight” had become his go-to answer. At first, she thought it was exhaustion. Then stress from work. But now? Now she knew something bigger was happening. And it wasn’t just in his body — it was in their marriage.

Caleb, what’s happening? — she inquired that very evening, perched at the side of the bed with her arms folded and her gaze fixed on him.

He exhaled heavily, as though he bore an immense burden.

— I… I can’t anymore — he finally said without looking at her.

— Can’t what? — Savannah pressed, even though she already knew the answer.

— I can’t… you know… get hard.

The words hung in the air like a death sentence. Savannah felt a mix of shock, frustration, and……
